my guess is it depends what the file types are that your trying to stream.

http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/gamesandmedia/movies/videofaq/viewvideoplaybackfaq.aspx

Theres a little preview of what it supports

Yes its MKV files im having trouble with, and im running windows XP.
Maybe upgrading to windows 7 might solve the problem?

Hate to bring up an old topic but last time i had problems i posted on 4 other sites and had to come here to get a fix
Problem is certian movies i stream to the xbox lag like fuck and others run fine.
What i dont get is the HD movies that are only 4-8 gigs are laging but the ones that are 12-18 gigs dont lag
They dont lag at all on the computer only the xbox
They all 720 or 1080p could it be a converter problem???
Any ideas??? Im using a wired network, I could see if it was wireless......
