i'm finding out that all the new games function that way.

why can't i just buy the game and get the perks included. stupid bf1 battle packs (btw, tones of bf1 campers!! good aim though)

agree, but battlefield has it all as for gameplay, better games, dedicated servers for rent only but who cares, and all out war and when you shoot at something it really breaks or gets damaged instead of turning arround and all is good!
