GET IN THE FUCKIN SERVER NOOB!!!
Windows 7
« on: August 12, 2010, 09:52:05 AM »
Ever since i installed win7, seems like anyways, my computer is shutting down during games.
Not rebooting, shutting off like someone has unplugged the machine.
Anyone else having this problem or heard of it before.
I havent done anything with the bios or messed around with anything.
Im playing the same games as what i was when i had XP and had no problems at all.
I been reading about it online and some people say its a power supply issue.

Here is what i have now, maybe i need something new/else?????

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 500GB SATA2 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive
Gigabyte EP45-DS3L ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 HD Sound GBLAN Motherboard
Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan
G.SKILL F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-8000 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit
Diamond Radeon HD 4850 625MHZ 512MB 1.98GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Car
Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 Audio
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Dual Core Processor LGA775 3.0GHZ Wolfdale

I dont have this machine overclocked all factory settings....
Was thinking i might need to go to a liquid cooling or something?????

Lol Thirsty .... good luck trying to figure that one out.

No BSOD though?

Could be Power Supply on the way out ...... could be RAM ....... could be CPU ...... could be anything really!!! lol.

When I 1st installed Win 7 I kept on getting BSOD (Different messages) when playing games. Then 1 day came home and my HDD was dead. Replaced it and never had a problem since.

But I every time I have had RAM problems I have ALWAYS had BSOD.

You got Win 7 set up so that it shows BSOD and not just restart?

This machine is less than 1 1/2 years old and i treat her like a baby.
I just spent 2 hours pulling it apart and cleaning it out.
I vacumed whatever i could.
Took out the cpu and cleaned up all the fans
Even installed one more
I heard some people say it might be dust blocking it
Aint the case as it wasent hardly dirty at all.
No BSOD as it just powers off and dont start untill i push the power button
Im gonna try updating the bios and chipset later and see if that might help....

Overheating, I guess.

Go for Arctic Cooling, I've heard they're good..
