8500GT OC FTW!!!

Bought this card in replacement for my 8800GTS 512 (G92) until it comes back from EVGA, mainly because I was sick of my 8400GS. I bought this card  because of #1 price after rebate, and #2 it had pretty good reviews and higher stock clocks than the other 8500gt's , and DDR3 to boot!

Since I sold my E8400 and my machine is down, I just threw it in my wifes machine (where it will eventually end up) for testing. I can say that if you are in need of a video card, and dont have $200+ to blow, this is the card you want.

Here are the results.


Going from 8400GS





Ive been messing with this most of the morning, and It seems to have no OC end in sight.



TO the 8500GT-OC
Core clock  600MHz
Memory Clock  1200MHz



Load temps are right around 52c and idle about 45 ish. I did remove the stock thermal shit and put on some Artic cermiqe before I even plugged this bad boy in.



OverClocked
Core clock  725MHz
Memory Clock  1424MHz



Load temps maxed at 57c for about 10 secs avg load was 55c, idle temps are 44c. I think Ill push this beast more once I get the cooler from ku@to.

+1641 (and counting) 3DMark 06 points, from just a $50 upgrade from 8400GS to 8500GT and 398 points from 8500gt stock OC to 8500Gt SmittyClock!

A lot more than this, this test wasn't to compare to the $200+ cards, as the 8800gt but to show that a $50 card can still give you kick ass performance.
