ok guys i just bought a tablet pc.. heres my problem i dont think its specific to the tablet so it doesnt matter if you've ever used one.

theres 2 cd's (windows xp tablet edition 2005)

i insert the first one, setup is inspecting your hardware, partition, copying files,, yada yada....

so then it says setup must restart, it will continue after

1) i leave cd1 in, it starts the new install over again
2) i take it out "operating system not found"
3) i put cd2 in "operating system not found"


anyone know what the problem is? am i overlooking something?

yea i have boot sequence... cd, floppy, hdd

so if i take the cd out it should boot to hard drive, but it just gives me the no operating system...

and the laptop is fully functional i was using it before.. i just wanted to clean install

ohh weird. maybe im thinking of something else.


so you format,(after format there should be ZERO partitions) then create parttion, then install on the newly created partition.  make it go cd, hd, then floppy.  is there more than 2 hds on it?

1 hd... i put in the install cd (theres 2, tablet pc edition 2005 straight from msdn)... first goes in.. blue install screen, i delete the partition, create new partition, format ntfs quick.... "copying files".... when thats done it says, "computer will restart,, setup will continue after"

well... if i leave the cd in, understandably it begins the install all over , but when i take it out, it says no operating system

im gonna reset the bios.. but i dont have it with me at work :(

im d/l a torrent of xp tablet edition 2005 now.. so ill give that a shot.

if that doesnt work i might have to go to vista :( im not sad because its vista i dont mind just cause it wont run as smooth with it
