Computer FAN
« on: January 10, 2008, 02:55:40 PM »
I bought my HP dual core processor last year and never had any problems with it ...
Till couple of weeks ago ...
Sometimes while playing cod2 .. in the middle of the game my CPU usage goes above 50% and the fucking FAN starts running like an airplane, pretty annoying cause it makes a hell of a sound

Anybody have any idea why this could happen and how could I prevent this ?
Or it's just cause the fan is wearing out and the processor ain't so new anymore so it's got to cool down more & more lately ?
I've cleaned the fan so there's no dust at the moment ...

any suggestions would be helpfull !

but it's not the fan ... my cpu works more like it should so the fan works even more to cool it, but i don't understand why the cpu should work more ?

anyway now that my own processor (brains) work, it could be cause of the heat produced in my room ... it's winter and my room has a higher temperature then usually lol ...

ohhhh it's only loud 1% of the time i use the computer, sometimes when i game .. sometimes when i load bunch of nude girls pictures ...
the rest of the time it's normal .. i can hear it but it's not annoying, that means the cpu is lower then 50%

I had a similiar problem

but it was an ac fan, not the processor cooler....

only did it sometimes at starting...

Uhh, try to check the fan connection to see if it is connected correctly(not loose, i hate my english.,,)

Yeah all you need is a good cpu cooler. If you want to go cheap then just rip the stock fan off the heatsink and tape a silent 3rd party fan on there! If you are not a technical person then buy a Zalman 9700 or 9500 or if you want to go serious with the cooling get the thermalright ultra-120 extreme (best cpu air cooler)
