just a quick note.. in regards to point 6. with many torrents there are separate files, so if one of the files is done but the entire torrent isnt, you can still view it. this is good for torrents with .nfo's.. also many movie torrents will include a sample... set the files you want to high priority to d/l them first... or you can even check off only certain files you want.
also, to further what smitty said about not condoning torrents, it's really irrelevant as many torrents are perfectly legal. we dont, though, support the use and distribution of ILLEGAL torrents.
as for clients, tried most of them... i use utorrent now simply because i find its really small and doesnt use alot of resources.. very quick too.. bitcomet was nice, but i dont like the new version. I had azureus for a while (2.x) but found because its java tends to slow up your comp.

i use utorrent as well... takes up barely any processing speed.
oh and smitty, you can support bittorrent, just don't support illegal downloading. there are millions of legal things you can download using bittorrent.

Although I no longer use torrents (I have been converted to Newsgroups (Full speed download - No Upload ;) ) I still have a look around torrent sites now and again and still a member of many sites. I just heard the rumour from TorrentFreak and Slyck.com:
We received a letter from a lawyer represeting the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and we need to start blocking Canadian traffic because of this.

n00bzzz. magicDisc to mount the ISO or UIF image or whatever image you have. go to my computer and click on the CD in the virtual drive to see its contents. theres usually a crack folder in there or something like the persons name, reloaded, razor. copy that and paste it into your warcraft 3 folder in program files.

hmmm i only use 3 torrent sites: mininova.org - free scenetorrents.org - private torrentleech.org - private
with scenetorrents and torrentleech once i downloaded 1 TB in a month, but recently my ISP started caping my connection and i only get fullspeed at torrents between 10pm and 9am >:( well but i guess thats enough with a 18MB connection in that time interval i can download every new releases that come out everyday ;D

Here's my 2 bit's on torrenting:
Get Utorrent
www.utorrent.com
Then get Peerguardian 2
www.phoenixlabs.org/pg2/
Then get your block-lists from here
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.php
Add the block-lists to the peerguardian manager.
Encrypt traffic in Utorrent - so ISP's can't throttle you/see what your downloading
Then get a demonoid invite. You can get one by pm'ing me.. and if I know you from the cod2 server, then you might get one if I have enough.
Just my 2 bits or at least what I do.

pg is bleh because if your not carefull you will block universities and there kick ass connections.... plus if you just use private sites like acetorrents, torrentleech, scenetorrents then you dont really have to worry about pg.
ps demonoid isnt a private site.. i say all this because i really would sway away from public sites all together.

If you have a crap connection..... you can limit how much bandwidth you give utorrent to download the files. And... if you really want to you can schedule it during nighttime so it downloads when your not using it.
What's wrong with your connection? I've never heard of a connection that's never been able to download torrents.... Only slow ones though.

Well.. if you have a 1mb connection... you should be downloading with at least 100kb's.
I have a 1.5 connection and I download around with that much, sometimes more.
It all depends on if you help seed or not, or ..... if you even upload.
Most of the time you can't get good speeds unless the torrent you are downloading has plenty of seeds.
If not, then something is the matter with your connection.

yes dirtone, more seeds the torrent have more ur connection shuld be better.when u download a torrent choose the most seeder torrent ;) u have 1mb = 1024 kbits = 128 Ko that's u have in theory but in real the max that u can use about ur 1024 kB is only 716.8 kB = 89.6 Ko => it's only 70% of ur connection the other 30% are lost in two step: the first 10% are losed by annex connection (cherching peers by UDP and TCP protocol) and the second 20% are lost by ur windows (windows reserve 20% of the pass band to update but u can disable it and u ancrese ur connection by 20% so u'll have aroud 820 kB/s = 102 Ko) OK!

omggg noobs use private torrent trackers (google it) there are 1000's of them fast download speeds ect. and safe
here is one im admin on http://betamaxbits.uk.to top download speed is about 100mb we have 3 seed boxes so there is 300mb download speed for users and thats even before the other ppl start seeding :P everything needs to be seeded for 24 hours or to a .65 ratio or you will get a H&R then banned if not seeded. please read rules before you start downloading.
we also sell seedboxes to give you a better ratio on your private torrent sites http://tfhosting.servehttp.com/services.php <<<--- 100mb lines CHEAP not to be used with mininova pirate bay ect. only pravite torrent trackers as none private trackers are sh*t and should not be used!!! EVER! but it can be used on legal torrent sites i think :p
plus one more thing for new ppl that use utorrent DONT forget to turn on protocol encrytion (turn it to forced!!) so your ISP cant see what your downloading, wouldnt want your ISP ringing you up saying your downloading illegal stuff now would we lol

:-\ whaa? im not for saying much but if you think your safe using public trackers go for it, but sooner or later public trackers wont be around because of RIAA, MPAA, MediaDefender and lots more try to shut down public trackers, im not saying this dont happen to private trackers it does but its alot harder to get into a good private torrent tracker, sign ups open and close all the time or the tracker is invite only and the only way to get into it is to know some1 in it with an extra invite. i have seen the best torrent trackers invites sell for ?100's and to get one of the site is like ?50 three of the best i know and cant get into are scc, Sct< or sceneassecc they have every pre in the world pre time of 1min from being finished makin f****** unreal pre times.
I say get into a private torrent tracker now and start getting a good ratio because when the time comes there is no public ones left you will thank me for saying this.
stuff that private torrent trackers offer (Ratio, Bonus points, seeding bonus points, forum posting points, Mirc/X-Chat points 1/2points an hour there is alot more ways to get points but cant mind :P points let you buy more upload GB's for a better ratio/invites and ask for a torrent you want uploaded there is alot more to offer from a private tracker. this is my user account for BB coolboy8(Elite User) up(986.54 GB) down(17.02 GB) Ratio(57.95) alomst uploaded 1TB w00t :P I would sit here and type all day but have to stop so much for not saying much lol

Well hand out some passwords for these private tracker sites then ffs. Nice you come in here bragging about your ratios, if your that good you should get some passwords for invites so fess some up. We dont have a limit on our bandwidth here in Canada so i DL much as i can. I only use demonoid tho. ??? ???

ScT, SCC, and SceneAccess are all tied together :P and have as good pre times as are tracker maybe 2 r 3 secs faster in some stuff. but would love a invite if you got one laying around for scc or sct (no joke) been trying to get in them two for a very long time!!!
NoBS|Thirsty? lol get off that damn thing, get yourself into any private tracker get that ratio up and show it off to ppl with a better tracker and ask them to invite you (thats how i got into good trackers), most ppl wont give out invites to ppl that dont keep a good ratio or have never used a private tracker before.

seems my sct is gone for non use lol still use scc some but mainly TL and AceT. How do you mean connected?
I used to be Sysop on AceT. No invites left for any but AceT and DH. The others you get them when you donate and i havent ever donated sorry. AceT is just was just as good as SCC and Sct when i was sysop there when i was watching tracer channels. And there pres seem to still be great so let me know if you want in. OFC they may be open atm dunno.
