this is what i am using now. gave me around a 50-60 FPS boost.
Here is some of the stuff i find useful.  Use it and start pwning some bitchez

USAGE:
To use them, open notepad, paste this stuff in, then save it in your COD4 "main" folder BUT:
WHEN YOU GO TO SAVE AS: TYPE IN (INCLUDE QUOTES) "auto.cfg" for the FILE NAME and click ok.
now when you are in game open console and type in: /exec auto.cfg
you only have to run that command once, unless you reset your profile or reinstall the game.
xfire: caboosification if you need help.

I have tested these commands, they all help, definitely don't hurt in any way:

These commands help fps A LOT, BUT they create popping textures.  for example, on a map with a lot of
grass, you will NOT see grass at a distance farther than ~4 feet. the grass will pop back as you get
closer.  these commands will probably get you kicked after the next patch is applied, since sv_pure is all fucked up. so i am posting the DEFAULT values in case you guys want to switch back.

OPTIMIZED:

yea i didn't notice any difference either still getting my same 60fps.  i don't know how you got 50 more fps.  What kind of computer do you have?

Seriously? CoD4 Takes next to no computing power whatsoever. If you need to tweak it to get FPS then go trade in your wall-mart computer for something that wasnt made by some chinese slave, I got your back OSniper!
