not usually no. you just use a program to verify that the ss, dmi, and pfi match. if they match the retail ones, youre good. if not, patch them so they do. they cant ban them if they look *exactly* as the retail do lol. run the crc check and youre gold!

if your firmware is up to date, and games patched correctly you cant get banned randomly, I played res evil 5 a week before it was out in n.a. but it was out in japan. so there is no way of telling if its not an import. The only time i really have to be careful is when the come out with the big ban waves that ban thousands of people in a day. I cant get banned since games are properly patched that this moment.

probably not that hard. but not something you'd wanna do yourself likely. i'd rathat not spend a couple hours learning it, and pay someone $20 to do it. thats all it cost me :)

if you have the sata drive or w/e dont think its hard. just open the xbox connect it, then the computer will flash it, and you can get a program that pretty much flashes good. only problem would be to have all the required components
