------------ Introduction ------------ "Merciless2 v2.0" is the latest version of the Merciless Mod for "Call of Duty 2". Merciless2 is designed to add a fair amount of realism as well as some over-the-top gameplay to multiplayer. Merciless2 significantly changes the experience of "Call of Duty 2" by adding additional blood, violence and gore. It is intended for mature audiences (18+) only.

------------ Installation ------------ Before installing "Merciless2 v2.0" update your "CoD2" to version 1.3! Delete all other Merciless installations!
To install this mod properly see below:
Run the Merciless2 v2.0 installer. If your game is installed to the default location (c:Program FilesActivisionCall of Duty 2) then do NOT modify the installation path already set on the Merciless installation program. This is very important, so please heed this.
If your game is NOT installed to the default location, then you will need to set the installation path as follows: "x:game pathcall of duty 2" (x: = drive where game is installed) (game path = directory where game is installed).
------------ Go Merciless ------------ The easiest way to go Merciless is to execute "Merciless2.exe" for Merciless 2 in your "merccod2" folder.
Other: 1) Create a shortcut to your "CoD2MP_s.exe" 2) Right click on the shortcut and select properties 3) add "+set fs_game merccod2 +exec merc2config.cfg" to your target line ("x:game pathcall of duty 2CoD2MP_s.exe" +set fs_game merccod2 +exec merc2config.cfg) 4) Go Merciless!
----------------- Creating a server ----------------- 1) Create a folder "merccod2" in your main "CoD2" on your server 2) Upload the following files into the "merccod2" folder * Merciless2v2_00.iwd * Merciless2_svr_.iwd * message.gsc * merc2config.cfg 3) modify merc2config.cfg to set up the variables on the server (advanced users only ! The default should work fine for the most)
4) windows: start Merciless(see go Merciless instructions above) Linux: start your server with "./cod2_lnxded +set fs_game merccod2 +exec merc2config.cfg"
---------------------- Connecting to a server ---------------------- To connect to a server you MUST have the Merciless mod installed (see installation instructions above). All you need to do is simply connect to the server, no need for anything else! Merciless will NOT interfere with other mods since it runs from it's own Mod folder.
-------- Features -------- - Blood on player bodies (based on hit location and weapon) - Blood on player hands - Extra gore (configurable) - Blood splatters on the ground/wall - Pain/death sounds (configurable) - Blood pools under the player when killed - Blood on player camera - Bleeding - Heartbeat/heavy breathing when damaged - Knocked to ground when damaged by grenade/projectile blast and drop weapon if enough damage is taken - Weapon can be shot out of hands (configurable) - Custom HUD - 5 new weapons (Panzerschreck, Panzerfaust, Mobile MG42,Mobile CAL30,Scoped Gewehr43) - 3 new grenades (Firegrenade, Gasgrenade, Sticky Bomb) - Players can get decapitated (configurable) - Projectile/grenade weapons will gib players - Initial Support for TDM/S&D/HQ gametype modes - Cold Breath (based on code from AWE, configurable) - Target Blip (based on code from AWE, configurable) - Custom shellshock effects (configurable) - Rotating Server Messages (based on code from AWE, configurable) - Punishment option for players who TK (reflects damage to those who exceed the allowed amount of damage points) - Dead Body Shooting - Dead Body Gibbing (Artillery/Mortars)
------- Classes ------- There are 5 class choices available in version 2.0. Each class has a specific role on the battlefield. Below are generalized descriptions. Each nationality has class names which are specific to their nation.
Infantry Soldier/Grenadier -------------------------- -The infantry solider is the heart and soul of any army. They are the fire team and the assault team. They have the use of sub-machine guns, un-scoped rifles, pistols and grenades. Allied Soldiers are given the Molotov Cocktail, while Axis Soldiers are outfitted with Mustard Gas grenades.
Medic/Mediziner --------------- -The medic is the lifeblood of any fighting unit. They are only armed with rifles, but carry health kits and can heal teammembers. Medics can heal their wounds automatically over a period of time. They provide support to their unit and help to keep them in the battle and hopefully win the war.

good luck with this one, tried to get it to run with extreme mod and was a no go for me. I did get ti workin by its self. and it says you might get gamestate errors with more than 20 players. and it is almost a 140 mb dl for players. It does look good though. You could probably get to work with another mod buy removeing all the unneeded options like sprinting and messages but even with just the main 140 mb iwd in my server main folder my extreme mod wouldnt start. I will work on it some more just to see what i come up with but i think its a no go just because the 140 mb dl.

there are very few other servers that run this mod, that i can find, they are always full, im guessing because ppl take the time to DL this mod, and really like it

this is actually a very old topic probably has been tested by admins and refused ... seems cool to me but i'm thinking that this thing would kill peoples CPU & FPS ...

It is sick, I've playied on servers who've used this mod before, However if you dont have that good of a graphics card it will drop you down to about 20 fps, I like the custom weapon sounds tho :)

I ran this mod on my old clan server before and its fun for couple of days with few people... gets too nooby on servers with 20+ players
