Title: Mumble For Dummies Tutorial
Post by: Synflux on May 02, 2008, 05:20:30 PM
Okay I figured I make this post for the new members of this clan to explain how to use mumble properly so that it will run with Cod4/Cod2...

Lets begin,

If you haven't already downloaded mumble... please download Mumble from this site here http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ (http://mumble.sourceforge.net/)

After you have completed the installation process lets start configuring it

1. Once you open mumble you will see 2 windows layered on top of each other; for the address type in

38.105.81.66 and the port is 64738 and finally enter your username. Please

note DO NOT put your tags to avoid text-to-speech's retardedness eg. NoBS|Synflux - Nobs vertical line Synflux has entered the channel.

2.  Now go to Configure > Settings. Then at the bottom left corner make sure EXPERT CONFIG is CHECKED

3. On the left hand side scroll down to "Overlay" click on it and UNCHECK "Enable Overlay"

4. Now lets bind your Push-to-Talk, scroll up to "Basic Audio" and under "Transmission" click on the drop-down tab and click on

"Push-To-Talk"

5. Now... for your Push-to-Talk button, scroll down to "Shortcuts" then hover your cursor in the Push-to-talk box area and then press

whichever button you want to use for talking

And that concludes this very dumb tutorial, gg

Heads up all Vistax64: in order for push to talk to work in COD2 you must run mumble as an administrator, otherwise PTT will work only outside CoD2.

Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program as administrator

Got mumble fixed. Was something to do with the mic going in as digital instead of analog. Might help someone in the future.  ;)
