Title: to crossfire or not to crossfire...
Post by: Jackal on August 04, 2008, 07:24:48 PM
...that is the question. i need you nerds to tell me if its worth it to crossfire my hd3850 256mb card with another one. obviously 2 is better than one, but does 2 of these equal...oh i dont know...a hd4870? i'd rather not shell out $300 if i dont need to. also, if i do it, what do you guys guess my FPS will be in cod4? right now its 91-93 max and certainly not constant. most maps its like 60-70 which is weak sauce.

91 max sounds like its capped... change your max fps in console... /com_maxfps 250
hd3850 "street value" is maybe only $70 or $80 if that... so if you can find one second hand or something would be a decent upgrade.. otherwise i'd say nah when youre ready to upgrade do it later... i bet in a few weeks the 4850 will be like 140 or so

i already did /com_maxfps 0 as super j recommended. it spiked to 111 one time and i have never seen over 93 since then. im going to peruse ebay and see if i can get one on the down low. thanks werth.
