Haha ... nice Evil.

You know with all these download speeds getting higher its about time upload speeds got better too!

I used to be with BT Broadband before with 4mb Download and 512k upload which I consistently got full upload speed.

Just now I am with Virgin Cable on the 10mb download package which should give a 512k upload but in reality this is what I usually get:

Cable here in the UK is very poor .... Although its a so called Unlimited Package I am restricted to what I download to 3000mb between 10am & 3pm ........ then at night ........ 1500mb between 4pm & 10pm. If I go above thes figures I get restricted to 2.5mb download for 5 hours.

For you guys over the pond ..... is there restrictions on your connection? Or can you download at full speed 24/7?

it depends...

my college campus is a NO.  Depends on who is on. I would assume it varies with companies.  I know I don't get what I posted in my sig :p

canada is absolutely terrible.

bell: i think its 90 or 100GB cap (5-10Mbit line)
rogers: 60GB cap (7 Mbit line) or 90GB cap (10Mbit line)

teksavvy 5Mbit (small reseller, uses Bell's infrastructure) 200GB cap, or for $10 more, unlimited.

teksavvy is the champ

the infrastructure here is basically a monopoly between big companies like rogers, bell, telus etc... its an absolutely joke what we pay compared to other places.

comcast is supposed to have 250 gig limited. as far as speed limits after so much downloading for a certain amount of time i have never seen it.

i can download a 8 gig 1080 movie full speed for the whole download.

and upload speeds will allways be horrible compared to the download as the isps dont want you running webservers or other high bandwidth services at home ;)  if you gonna make money with there services they make you get business services.

Well I know my ISP is unlimited .... except for the times I stated above ... I do all my downloading through the night when I'm sleeping .... my newsgroups download at 1220 Kb/s. And in May I downloaded 300gb and June so far 220gb. And people on the Virgin section of a Broadband forum I use have downloaded way more than me. lol.

We pay for a package of Telephone with free calls at night and weekends, Cable TV with 100 channels plus Loads of free on demand shows and 10mb broadband ..... all for ?32 per month (52 USD & 59 CAD).

So I guess the UK isnt too bad after all. lol
