what software would you recommend for someone that has never fucked with this kinda think before?

I don't know lol. I like it cause it's easy to understand and it's basic you can still do alot of stuff with it though.

its terrible, just terrible!!!! windows movie maker shouldnt be installed on your system lol. Adobe Premier ftw! or Avid Pro, its basic but professional shit, strictly digital video file handling I think non-linear.

I use Corel Video Studio (used to be Ulead) .... easy to use plenty of effects and options. Have used Pinnacle which is good but crashes a lot.
