Gaming Laptop - Need Help!
« on: June 15, 2007, 04:26:44 PM »
Well it's almost time for me to purchase a new computer, but unfortunately it has to be a laptop because it's primarily for college.  I have looked at Dell and Alienware, but I don't know.  Seeing as some of you guys are pros when it comes to this stuff I figured someone here would be able to help me.  Basically I need the best laptop I can buy for $3000.00.  And I believe I am going to need to stick with Windows XP because of Windows Vista's compatibility issues and it's non-existent support for SLI or Crossfire.  So if anyone has any ideas or recommendations I would really appreciate it.  Thank you.

thanks for the reply but I would love it if you could provide me with a model number or some specifications.  To everyone that replies: please give me specs or a model, what graphics card(s) should I get, etc.

well crossfire and SLI are the least of your worries with a laptop
A story. A man fires a rifle for many years. and he goes to war. And afterwards he comes home, and he sees that whatever else he may do with his life - build a house, love a woman, change his son's diaper - he will always remain a jarhead. And all the jarheads killing and dying, they will always be me. We are still in the desert.

No doubt the M2010 is pretty sweet, but it's bridging the gap between laptops and a desktop.
IMO, at 20" and 18.3 lbs, it's not exactly portable...
