Windows XP Annoyance!

Ok guys .... have an annoyance with XP which I have never encountered before.

In My Computer it shows all your drives ..... my DVD drives (1 DVD & 1 Virtual Drive) do not show me what discs/images are in/mounted!!

Without Any Disc/Image:


With 1 Disc & 1 Image:


As you can see there is no change.

How can I get it back to where it shows me?

smitty: refresh does not work .... that was the first thing I tried.  :D

caboose: yes they play fine mate

werth: although I have a partition ready to install vista ..... I am holding off as long as possible as a couple of mates use vista and I hate it ..... a pile of steaming hot shit - they have nothing but problems .... and I always have to fix it for them. :o

There are many apps that are made for XP and still don't work with Vista.

When one of my mates bought a brand new PC a couple of months ago (shop bought, not custom built) most apps he used before with XP would not work.
He got me to install updated versions which did help although some didn't have updated versions.
His wife had many old games that she still loved to play (games were pre-2004) and I couldn't get them to work at all .... even using compatibilty mode! >:(

As I said, I will install Vista eventually (Have got a cracked version ready - Ultimate Edition October 2007) but I will still use XP through Dual-Boot, so I want to get it fixed.  :-*

no i know alot of stuff made FOR xp wont work WITH vista... but its the same way goin from 95-98, 98-2000, and 2000-xp... this will always happen..

what im saying is apart from compatibilty...

security, stability, performance, features etc... not crashing... new features like dx10...

youre gonna have to do vista sooner or later.. might  as well do it now

I'm gunna hold off a bit and wait for more 64bit compatible software becomes available. Is there still a 32bit vista, and does it have the same problems?

theres 32 and 64 bit and ive had problems with neither... run like a beauty.. only thing is 64bit has that forced digital driver signing shit... anyone know how to fix that? other than f8 at bootup?
