I was runnig COD 4 and i wanted to see my fps and big surprise my fps is 30-40 even with everything on of or low

I'm dont know much about pc's and shit and even i know that's bad so i need help 

My PC is

intel core 2 duo 4400 on INTEL 945g GZ P Pl.
2 GB RAM
Nvidia Gforce 8400 GS

I know its not a great pc but i think it could handle COD 4 better or am i wrong?

ya, your wrong. Id think you could get 60 fps however, try overclocking both the CPU and the VGA

Actually the more I think about it. The more you should think about droping your 8400 and moving up the line a tad.

Take this for reference, http://www.nobsclan.com/forums/index.php?topic=3037.0 that was for testing, and the 8500 doubles the 8400 without breaking a sweat. You can get a 8600 for less than $75 now, so might be time to upgrade
The CPU should be able to hit 3.0 ghz without trying to hard, which will help alot in games, put atm your bottleneck is the 8400.

Overclock the CPU in the bois, and you overclock the card using rivatuner.

And i tried overclocking it and now my pc is acting really weird i think i did something wrong, hopefully i have a buddy who knows this shit and its gonna help me fix what i fucked lol

well, dont push it to much, go in small increments. let us know if your buddy cant help

Yea i got it back to deafault tho.. i think i'm gonna leave it at that for now i was one step for burning my pc out lol
