i update them all.. xp had same thing but you had to manual update and uncheck the genuine advantage update and you was fine.

for xp i had dl some program from the net that made xp genuine forever, never had to worry about that genuine update!!

i hope in time what update it wil be, so you can uncheck it, or if they make some sort of program for win7...cus i update it to!!

For Windows XP I use the WPA Kill, makes your copy of Window Genuine forever. For Windows 7 I use another program that makes it Genuine and allows you to update too.

it sounds like an optional patch...optional would mean not done by auto updates? i've left mine on with no problems...
