Man the only reason soccer is more popular than other sports is economics (low equipment cost), climate (ice!), and geography (soccer is tied to national pride more than most other sports). It certainly isn't because it is more exciting than other team sports. The world cup just confirmed what I always thought. To me soccer is a slow and uninteresting game -113 minutes before a single goal was made ... I don't have that kind of patience, sorry Soccer no matter how many times I try to give it a shot.

Some of the players get grazed and fall down like they just been shot....OH MY LEG! I NEED A STRETCHER!!! *gets carted off* I'm good now. Oh darn! I'm on the complete opposite side of the field and they want me to throw it in?! Let me mozy on over that way then.
I have never seen as many grown men fake injury, whine, and complain at a sporting event (including the NBA). Try that in football or hockey over here and see how long you play in the big leagues. Get me back to hockey and NA football please. Heck, get me back to tennis even...LOL!!!

You guys cant judge the whole sport for 1 game.. the Final was weak cus the teams were weak.. Holland played terribly and Spain is weak just overall..

You guys watch 1 WC and think you kno what football is about lol..

Is unbeliaveable how you say soccer requires no skills lol.. I would recommend watch the Europe Cup and the UFA champions league.. That's were the true soccer is played.. WC is just a fashion event..

90% of canadians get "winter" or "ice" 3 months of the year. its been 40 degrees celsius here the whole past week. the only reason we like hockey is because its a superior sport and we have money to play.
