Ok earlier tonight on the CoD2 Server it started coming up with the message:
Warning - This Server IP has been BANNED by Punkbuster!
Ever since then my game works for about 1 min then it starts freezing badly making it unplayable.
Pitbully has also said its happening to him too!
What is going on?
Dirt gave me some commands to try but they don't help ........... Any ideas??

Ya about 4:30. You can connect and play, within 30 secs, you lag to 999 and unplayable. COD2 servers..

ditto, happened to me too. all NoBS cod2 servers having these issues. cod4 is playable

i see lots of people having that problem, but i can play as usual ... still asume it some kind of automatic pb update that you guys got into .....

I was playing fine while everybody was having the problem... then I exited out of the game (Dad needed to use the computer) and then after I went back into the game, I started having the exact same problem as everybody else.
So... the first time I opened the game everything was fine (Around 4.30pm-5.30pm,ish) then when I exited out of the game, the problem started. So it started around that time, or soon after.
Question is....
WTF! Is going on?

I think that too. Maybe the current pb version you had didn't block cracked servers... then.... one of you accidentally triggered update.. and pb became a copyright cop.

I read on google somewhere that cod4 had the same problem and that they were able to come up with a fix for cod4.

Awww well worked for about 5 mins!!!! lol
sent fan my working pb (old) files and he stopped getting the message for 2 minutes or something when i restarted my cod i started getting it pb is scanning isp's thats play on their banned servers and kinda blocks them so the only solution for us is to change ip or go legit ... ?

sounds and nsane found a solution for this problem on cod 4.. now if we can just get sounds of wow i bet he can fix it for cod 2 also ;D

the files they're using for cod4 worked for me in cod2 !! Here's the link to the setup (got it from oday) http://www.bisedime.net/Punkbuster.Got.Busted.v1.5-NoBS-UTDM.zip
make sure the files are copyed in your cod2/pb folder !!!! it worked for me, now i can get back in !

Edit: The fix Baim provided.... does work!!
Just download.
run the installer.
Change the directory of installtion to your cod2 folder, and make sure you overwrite the original pb file/folder.. or else it doesn't work.
You don't want 1 pb folder on top of another ( like I accidenly did) Just 1 pb, with the files from the installtion..

Baim figured out the fix.
The link I posted to sounds original cod4 fix works for cod2 too...
just read mine and Baims instructions in the previous 2 posts.

I downloaded and installed the PB files that baim posted, it does NOT work!!!
It worked smoothly for the first 10 minutes, and then the Warning Server IP is banned message came up again, and 5 minutes later, the game is freezing!!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

nobody said you should delete the original files, just copy them into cod2 folder ! contact me on xfire i'll send you the original files >> baimed

hey guys.. that trick didnt work with me so i tried the following and it worked:
delete the pb folder in your in your cod2 folder then run pbsetup.exe
played to 2 games without a prob

if we turn pb off, then we won't even have those losing packet issues...... btw: how many times a month does pb detect a cheater on cod2 ?

This is still not wokring for me!!!
I downloaded taht link to that Pb.EXE, and in stalled it and replaced the ENTIRE PB folder in my COD2 folder. it always works fine for about 30 minutes, and then the IP banned warning messages coming up, and then 10 minutes later, the game starts freezing.
I suspects other people are also still having this issue as there are alot free players on the server now.
I vote DISABLING pb buster all together!! playing with cheaters/hackers is better than not playing at all!!

the setup link posted in here is working for everybody, do it right it'll work for you too make sure it's installed in /cod2/pb/ folder !

Once your server is blacklisted.. there is no way your going to be stopped from being "banned".
Once your on the list, your on the list, and you stay that way.
It would be best just to turn punk-buster off... as Baim said we have nothing to lose and it would only help the server.... except...
for cheaters.
And I'm sure you guys can come up with a new way to deal with cheaters? ::)
