Ive seen a lot of people complain about this error, and yesterday i started getting it myself, and it annoyed the hell out of me. Sounds and i figured out a solution tho so if anyone is having this problem read on.

Problem:
After playing on any server for more than 30 seconds PB kicks you and gives the message "kicked for 2 minutes: Losing Key Packets".  You cant fix this by restarting the game or anything. It is a punkbuster error, which in my case was because the service PnkBstrB.exe not running. The service only starts when you are running a PB game, so if you do a ctrl+alt+del after launching the game, this service should be in your processes list.

Solution:
First of all make sure you have the lates version of Punkbuster. Use the instructions on this page:

If you already have the newest version, download punkbuster service installer.
http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
run pbsvc.exe . First uninstall the service, then install it.  A direct reinstall didnt work for me so make sure you uninstall the service completely first.
Reboot your computer and it should work.

Update: this is not a permanent solution.  It worked for me for like 4-5 hours of COD but then it broke again.  But this works as a temporary solution.  If you get kicked for losing key packets then just do the whole reinstall thing again and it should be fixed.

yep reinstall cod2 and problem is solved...i had the same problem.....did that and it was don....

jimmr: i've tried reinstalling the game, the error comes back after a day or two.
smitty: this error will happen on ALL servers, not just ours, i tried different ones to make sure.  Once you start getting this error, it will
happen on any server you join and wont stop until you have reinstalled the PB services. 

Also this is not happening in just COD2, but ALL PB enabled games.  Right now i think we just need to wait for a PB update to solve the problem.

Updates haven't helped me, so far the only thing that helps is either reinstalling punkbuster services or just switching to a different server ( i just tried this and apparently im only getting the error on our rifles and pub server.

Just started happening to me today... and yes, it is apparently ALL pb enabled games... one guy on TWL forums claims a fix.. but then again, his "fix" doesn't have any punkbuster stuff running.. lol.. so it's not really a fix..

Uninstalling service and reinstalling.. we'll see what the result is... Oddly, tests resulted in "all ok"

Additional note:

Before uninstalling the service, I ran a test and saw this:

Is PnkBstrA explicitly allowed?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrA.exe   NO
Is PnkBstrB explicitly allowed?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrB.exe   NO

After uninstalling, reinstalling and running the test, it is now:

Is PnkBstrA explicitly allowed?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrA.exe   YES
Is PnkBstrB explicitly allowed?
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrB.exe   YES

Seems perhaps initial installation of PB with COD2 doesn't explicitly allow PB to access the net through firewalls, etc.. Grasping straws as no one knows of a full fix other than waiting for a PB update.. but it's a possibility.. Error is annoying as hell as you have no warnings or anything in console.

Wowza make sure you download pbsetup.exe and update punkbuster before you run pbsvc.exe to update the services.  There are tons of posts about this error on the punkbuster forum. Hopefuly the server tech can fix this.

As for the TWL fix, apparently you can still run punkbuster without pnkbstrA.exe service stopped, i tried this but it didnt actually take care of the problem for me (i could still connect to the pub) so id recommend not doing that lol.

Yeah.. first thing I did after my first kick is run the pbsetup.. it found an update and did it, but that didn't work.. so I tried the service thing.. the TWL one I think talks of stopping both pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB.. (as A just launches B).. but yea, I wouldn't go that far..

Hopefully its just like they said, server getting attacked however that would be odd as it's other servers and games too...

Heh.. maybe it's ER trying to get some people to play on their server which sits at zero.

fixed. box on our switch was getting ddos'd
